This organically cultivated Tamaryokucha is a fine Japanese green tea, also commonly known as guricha. It is cultivated and produced in the Prefecture Miyazaki on the Kyushu Island. The name of this variety, which is only produced in relatively small amounts, clearly expresses its quality: Tama = gemstone/jewel | Ryoku = green | Cha = tea.
The dark green color of this highly aromatic tea comes from its twisted leaves. Its light grassy scent and Its velvety texture are a lovely addition for green tea lovers. Spinach-like notes with hints of citrus, berries, and an almond after taste, deliver a delicate mellow flavor that is simply remarkable.
The cultivation method and the processing is the same as for sencha, except in the last step. Instead of the tea leaves being rolled and straightened out, they are placed in a revolving drum and dried with hot air.
